Ida Mae (Follett) Douglas

Ida Mae (Follett) Douglas was born December 11, 1929, in Port Arthur, Texas to Edgar E. and Leona (Fischer ) Follett. Ida was baptized in the Methodist Church and confirmed in 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church. She graduated from Port Arthur College and worked at Kress and Spooner’s in Port Arthur.
Ida was active at Trinity Lutheran Church, Port Arthur in the Ladies Aid, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Lutheran Braille Workers Work Center, choir, Sunday School teacher and Trinity Thrift Store. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed cooking and baking. Her specialties were chocolate chip cookies and green rice. She had a good sense of humor and enjoyed being with family and friends, sewing and crocheting for them.
Ida married Delbert Winter and they raised two children. She later married Warren Douglas.
Ida Mae Douglas went to her heavenly home Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the age of 87.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Edgar E. Follett, Jr.; a sister, Janet Miguez; and husband Warren. Ida is survived by a son, Denny Winter and wife Julie; a daughter, Rosanne Capdeville and husband Roy; granddaughter, Andrea Tilley and husband Terry and great-granddaughter, Grace Tilley; grandson, Nathan Capdeville; a brother Albert Follett and wife Betty; and a sister Kathy Follett; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers are Nathan Capdeville, Terry Tilley, Eric Miguez, Kyle Leyendecker, Brett Leyendecker, Russell Williamson and Reese Williamson. Honorary Pallbearer is Rev. Mark Follett.

Visitation is at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, Port Arthur, Texas Wednesday, June 24, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with Ida’s Celebration of Life service to begin at 2:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves, Texas.
