Norman Lee Ned

Norma Lee Ned, 93, of Port Arthur, Texas departed this life on Friday, June 9, 2017.
Norma Lee Ned was born on March 15, 1924 in Galveston, Texas to Zenobia Etheredge and Willie Henry. Her parents, husband, Clyde Ned, Sr.; and daughter, Nova Claudette Ned preceded her in death.
She was educated in the public-school system in Jennings, Louisiana. Norma graduated from Xavier University’s Secretarial School and on August 18, 1944, she married Clyde Ned, Sr.; and, to this union were born six children and two adopted twin daughters. Norma accepted Jesus Christ at an early age, and was a devoted member of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church.
As Norma, “Snook” as so many so fondly called her, receives her heavenly reward, she leaves to cherish her memory, six daughters, Dian Bishop – Port Arthur, Texas; Jackie Wilson (Nemiah) – Aurora, Colorado; Faye Washington (Reginald) – Englewood, Colorado; Melanie Ned – Port Arthur, Texas; Robyn Burton (Jarrell) and Demieka Wilson (Jackie) both of Jacksonville, Florida; one son, Reginald Ned (Jannetta) – Beaumont, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Johnnie Bee Briggs – Jennings, Louisiana; several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, Port Arthur, Texas beginning at 9:00 a.m. with the service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Entombment Live Oak Mausoleum.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hannah Funeral Home, Inc.; Port Arthur, Texas.
