Jerome Bernard Webre

Jerome Bernard Webre passed away on June 7, 2017 at the age of 85 and is now in the arms of Our Beloved Lord.
He was born on August 19, 1931 in Port Arthur, TX to Joseph Becnel and Natalie Reulet Webre. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was so proud of each of his children and grandchildren and they in turn loved him dearly. He devoted his entire life to them. He attended Bishop Byrne High School and after graduation he attended St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX and then Lamar University.
He married his beloved wife, Jo Ann in 1951 and one month later was called to active duty in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was stationed in Spokane , Washington and Portland, Oregon. After his honorable discharge he was employed with Gulf Oil Corporation which later became Chevron and remained there until his retirement in 1989 with 36 years of service. He was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jo Ann Beaugh Webre of Port Arthur, TX. One son, Jerome “Buster” Webre of Nederland, TX and four daughters and their husbands, Karen and John Begnaud, Donna and Chris Forster and Jennifer and Richard Boehme of Beaumont, TX and Ellen and Tom Angelini of Corpus Christi, TX.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Jason Begnaud and wife Robin, Amy Harris and husband Dustin, Bryan Cappadonna and wife Amy, Courtney Guilbeau and husband Koy, Ashley Jost and husband Alan, Kyle Boehme, Lindsay Romero and husband Shane, Sydney Webre, Zac Angelini  and wife Jennifer, Max Angelini, Chloe Angelini and 8 great-grandchildren. One brother and sister-in-law Charles and Bobbie Beaugh and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Rita Webre and Ann Kleeman.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 5:00 PM til 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Monday, June 12, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches. Rev. Shane Baxter and Monsignor Kenneth  Greig will con-celebrant the Mass. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson.
