Eugene  Bruce David, 69, of Port Arthur passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Senior Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center.

He was born on January 7, 1948 to his parents, Dora Mae Prevost David and Henry David in Port Arthur, Texas.  Bruce was a lifelong resident of the area. He proudly served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Bruce worked as a fireman for Port Arthur Fire Department and medically retired after many  years of service. He was a Mason with the  Cosmopolitan Lodge #872 A. F. & A. M.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Barbara David, his daughter, Kelli Sharp, his son, Gene Brientley.

Bruce is survived by his son, Donald David of Port Acres, his daughter, Tammee Robertson of Iwoa, nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Memorial service to honor Bruce’s life will be celebrated at  4:00 PM Saturday,  May 27. 2017 at the Masonic  Lodge, 1901 Lakeshore Drive, Port Arthur with the Masonic  funeral  rite. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors in Groves.
