Sunny skies lead families to RiverFest

PORT NECHES — With Wednesday’s heavy storms long gone and sunny skies shining from above, families packed the second day of Port Neches RiverFest on Thursday.

Jana and Cody Harper took a ride on the Wacky Cowboy roller coaster along with their children Finley and Hadlee.

“We’re having a blast,” Jana Harper said. “We come every year.”

Carnival rides for all ages were filled with kids while parents stood nearby taking photos.

Paula Saavedro stood by as her niece Scarlett Saavedro and nephew Emilio Saavedro grabbed the wheel on the bumper cars. The siblings laughed a lot as Scarlett maneuvered their car around and into other colorful cars. Their aunt said they too come every year to RiverFest.

RiverFest continues Friday through Sunday at Port Neches Riverfront Park.

 

Friday, May 5

  • 8:30 to 10 p.m. – Bri Bagwell
  • 10:30 p.m. to midnight – Turnpike Troubadours
