Threw three innings and allowed three hits at Kansas in a 2-1 loss Saturday, but did not earn the decision. He won in his previous appearance at home against Kansas State, allowing three earned runs on three hits in 2 1/3 innings in a 6-5 decision.

He previously served as sports editor since August 2015 and has won or shared eight first-place awards from state newspaper associations and corporations.
