GROVES — A man was stabbed and another man was shot during an early morning incident in Groves on Tuesday.
A passing motorist heard a shot around 7:30 a.m. in the 3100 block of West Parkway, looked over and saw a man running, Groves City Marshal Norman Reynolds Jr. said.
The motorist alerted police who found a man with a stab wound to one of his arms. While speaking with officers the man identified himself as well as the man who stabbed him. The stabbing victim reportedly told police he had shot the other man with a shotgun, Reynolds said.
“No motive has been established yet,” Reynolds said. “Their injuries were not life threatening. The man with the stab wound was transported to The Medical Center of Southeast Texas and the shooting victim was transported to St. Elizabeth (in Beaumont).”
The incident happened at the home of the man with the stab wound and Reynolds said the men knew each other.
Both men are in the early to mid-40s.
No arrests have been made and the incident is under investigation.
