Jefferson County District Attorney Bob Wortham suffered a sudden illness and was taken to a local hospital for treatment on Tuesday.

Assistant district attorney Gary Reaves said the incident happened around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to a press release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Wortham was doing well as of mid-day.
