The Texas Department of Public Safety has released the name of a woman who died in a head-on collision on West Port Arthur Road on Monday.

The victim is identified as Martha Dianne Katan, 49.

The wreck happened around 1 p.m. on West Port Arthur Road, near South Garden Road, in Jefferson County, causing officials to close the road in both directions while responding.

Initial reports indicate that a Toyota passenger vehicle and a Ford F250 pickup truck collided head-on while traveling on West Port Arthur Road.

The case remains under investigation.
