2 shot, one arrested after altercation between two groups at Prince Hall Apartments

Two people sustained non-life threatening injuries after a shooting at Prince Hall Apartments on Wednesday.

Port Arthur Police received a 911 call shortly after 3 p.m. about a shooting victim at the apartments, 914 West 14th Street,  according to a press release from the City of Port Arthur. Officers learned there were actually two shooting victims who had been transported to a local hospital prior to their arrival.

Witnesses told police an altercation between two groups of people led to the shooting. A person of interest, later identified as Decarlos Valcin was taken into custody at his residence for outstanding felony warrants.

The investigation is ongoing.
