GROVES — Groves Police are searching for three men who reportedly stole a bank bag from an employee at Dairy Queen on Friday.

Groves City Marshal Norman Reynolds Jr. said police believe the suspects may have been following the employee from a local bank. The employee pulled back up at Dairy Queen, 6250 39th St., and got out of his car around 2:30 p.m. when a white Chevrolet Sonic with dark windows pulled up behind him.

A man jumped out of the back seat of the Chevy and grabbed the bank bag from the employee.

“The employee was able to determine there were three black males in the car, all of them in their late teens or early 20s,” Reynolds said. “The one who grabbed the bank bag had long dreadlocks.”

Reynolds noted the crime is similar to one that occurred at A1 Financial, 6101 Gulfway Drive, on Jan. 13.

During that robbery the owner of the business was returning to his office and as he stepped out of his vehicle was approached by a man who grabbed his bank bag and fled.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Groves Police Department at 962-0244.
