Hazel Hebert Griffin

Hazel Hebert Griffin, 89, of Port Arthur, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at a private health care facility in Groves. Hazel was born, August 15, 1927 to the late Clovis and Emily Hebert in Port Neches.

Hazel was a member of St. James Catholic Church, where she served with the Alter Society. She was a member of the American Italian Club, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Texaco Retirees Group.

Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Joseph John Griffin. She is survived by her two daughters, Charlotte Bourg and her husband, C.J. of Port Neches, and Barbara Anglin and her husband, Don of Port Neches; her sister, Betty LeBlanc of Groves; two grandchildren, Kristi Mire and Lindsey Lefort; and her great grandchildren, Ross Lefort, Kate Lefort, Lucas Lefort, Emily Mire, and Parker Mire.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur, TX at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 with Rev. David Edwards, officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves under the direction of Melancon’s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland. A gathering of the family and friends will be Friday, January 27, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be held at 6:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home.
