PA man shot to death in Beaumont, second PA man injured

BEAUMONT — A Port Arthur man was found shot to death inside a vehicle and a second Port Arthur man received a gunshot wound to his face in Beaumont on Tuesday night.

Beaumont Police received a call of a man who said he’d been shot in the face around 6:30 p.m. Jan. 27 at Anchor Church, 6655 FM 105. The 26-year-old Port Arthur man had what police said was a single, small caliber gunshot wound to his face, according to a press release from BPD.

He told officers he was at apartments on Alpine when the incident occurred. The man was brought by Beaumont EMS to St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Officer Carol Riley said the shooting victim received non-life threatening injuries.

Officers were investigating this call when they got a call from a resident on Alpine that said they had arrived home and saw a person slumped over in a black vehicle. The man, identified as James Jones, 26, of Port Arthur, was deceased.

Police said the two incidents are related.
