Ophelia “Put” Mouton

Ophelia “Put” Mouton, 69, of Port Arthur passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.  A lifelong resident of Port Arthur, Ophelia was very active in the community and loved by many.  She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Ophelia is preceded in death by her parents, Ellis Sr. and Rosa Lee Kemper; one son, Ernest “Ray” Mouton and one sister.

She is survived by her children Hilery “June” Norman, Sabrina “Lynn” Mouton, Herbert “Big Herb” Mouton and U.S. Carnell Petetan; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a devoted friend, Luis Ortiz; eight siblings; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
