The Jefferson County grand jury voted Wednesday not to indict West Brook football coach Kevin Flanigan for improper visual recording.

Flanigan reportedly became aware of several thefts from his player’s lockers and set up a camera to catch the thief.

The Jefferson County district attorney’s office reported Wednesday about $1,000 worth of money and cell phones had been stolen over a month.

It was determined the video only filmed when players were on the practice field and the locker room was vacant. The camera was also removed before player’s returned.

The grand jury determined Flanigan had “no intent to invade any student’s privacy and had no intent of wrongdoing.”

Beaumont ISD placed Flanigan on administrative leave on Nov. 22. The Bruins lost to Spring Westfield in the third round of the playoffs, 44-6, and finished the year 11-2.
