Robert L. “Bobby” Kibbe, Sr.

Robert L. “Bobby” Kibbe, Sr., 76, of Groves, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at his home.

He was born on June 7, 1940 to Vicki Broussard Kibbe and J. W. Kibbe in Port Arthur, Texas. Bobby graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and was a lifelong resident of the area. He served in the U. S. Army Reserve. Bobby retired from Quantum Chemical after 40 years of service. He was a former Golden Gloves boxing champion, avid golfer and very proud father of four children.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Patricia “Pat” Kibbe whom he deeply cherished.

He is survived by his daughter, Kara Wied of Beaumont, his sons, Giles Kibbe of Houston, Bob Kibbe and his wife, Katie of Atlanta, Georgia, Justin Kibbe and his wife, Libby of Houston, and his stepson, Jade Fontenot of Houston; his grandchildren, Anna Katherine, Caroline and Rebecca Wied, William and Emily Claire Kibbe.

He is also survived by his sister, Gaye Nell Miller and her husband, Herman of Groves, brother, Chris Kibbe and his wife Leoma of Groves along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to say a special thank you to Bobby’s loving, sister Gaye Nell and niece Vicki Miller Ford, who provided Bobby with such great friendship and care.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors in Groves. Service to honor Bobby’s life will be at 11:00 AM Friday, December 23, 2016in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
