W. M. Timmerman, Sr., 95, of San Antonio, Texas passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016.

William was born August 21, 1921 in Hope Hull, Alabama to Samuel F. Timmerman and Fannie Garrett Timmerman.

 He was a longtime area resident before moving to San Antonio where he was a member of Pecan Valley Church of Christ.

He retired as a sales clerk from Sears after 33 years of service and was also a Church of Christ minister for many years.

William was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Martha Timmerman; and his son, W. M. Timmerman, Jr.

Survivors include his two daughters, Iva Timmerman and her husband Hector Caldera of San Antonio, and Patsy Goss and her husband W. Alec of Nederland; one son, Frank Timmerman and his wife Bonnie of Hondo; two sisters, Leila Norris and Blanche Moody; one brother, Garrett Timmerman and his wife Emily of Deer Park; thirteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Frank Timmerman officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Friends wishing to make memorial contributions may send them to the Timmerman or Sampson Scholarship Fund at Lamar University.
