Joseph Noel Collette, Sr., 70, of Groves, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016. Joe was born December 24, 1945 in Port Arthur, Texas to Albert and Pollie Collette. Joe worked as a shop foreman for Simco Enterprises. He was a member of the Pipe Fitters Local 195 for 25 years and a member of the Port Arthur Sertoma Club. Joe had a passion for flying kites and entertaining his grandchildren.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Collette and Pollie Brewer Collette; grandson, Frank Joseph Mannino and father-in-law, Norris Simon, sr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Carolyn Simon Collette; children, Joseph Noel Collette, Jr., and wife Vanessa, Angela Messina Mannino and husband Steve and Sean Collette and wife Michelle. Joe also leaves behind grandchildren, Haley Collette, Sydni Jo Collette, Brennan Stuart and Riley Mannino; mother-in-law, Florence Simon; brothers-in-law, Norris Simon, Jr. wife, Peggy and Mark Simon and wife Shirley to cherish his memories.
A gathering of friends and relatives will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., by the Men’s Acts Team, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Full Military Honors will be provided by the Southeast Texas Veteran’s Service Group. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Port Arthur Sertoma Club.
