MEMORIAL GIRLS TAKE DOWN VIDOR

The Port Arthur Memorial Titans defeated the Vidor Pirates Friday 42-33 in a District 22-5A girls’ basketball clash.

Memorial (2-1 in 22-5A) got 21 points and 11 rebounds from junior Julia Scion and seven points from Cassidy Carter.

The Titans led 8-5 after the first and took a 19-12 lead into half. Memorial then outscored Vidor 13-9 in the third before the Pirates won the fourth period 12-10.

Trahan scored 10 points for Vidor.

Memorial is off until participating in the Barbers Hill Tournament Dec. 29-31.
