For the first time, a Port Arthur football team will play for a Texas Youth Football Association state championship. The Port Arthur Little Titans qualified for the title game in the Division I flag football category and will take on the Cypress Tigers at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, the new practice facility for the Dallas Cowboys. The Titans won three games to make it that far, beating the San Benito Greyhounds 32-0, the Mission Mustangs 31-0 and the San Antonio Junior Broncos 41-12. The Port Arthur Little Titans entered the TYFA in 2012, and this year has played through extreme heat, bitter cold and rain on their journey to Frisco. The Little Titans’ head coach is Jermire Roberts Sr. Admission to the championship game is $15. (Kids 5 and under can get in free.) The address for the Ford Center is 9 Cowboys Way, Frisco.
