Children of all ages had a chance to jingle all the way during the Museum of the Gulf Coast’s Holiday Extravaganza on Saturday.

Two horse drawn carriages offered rides around the museum while patrons inside took part in holiday themed arts and crafts, games and a free movie screening of Prancer.

Stephanie Harren, education coordinator with the Museum of the Gulf Coast, explained the Holiday Extravaganza is an annual event for children and families. As usual, this year’s event was well received by the public.

While Harren wasn’t able to employ the assistance of elves she did have members of the museum’s Teen Troup.

“I couldn’t do this without them,” Harren said.

The Museum of the Gulf Coast is located at 700 Procter St. in Port Arthur. Family Fun Days such as the Holiday Extravaganza, occur periodically throughout the year.
