A Thousand Words Won’t Bring “Bay” Back; We Know Because We Tried. Neither Will A Thousand Tears; We Know Because We Cried.

It was a bright and beautiful day in Port Arthur, Texas on Friday November 25th, 2016, the day the sunset on the life of Bertha Lee Bazile Hall-87, a native of Goudeaux, Louisiana. She transitioned to eternal life, surrounded by her loving family.

Standing at the Gates of Heaven, Applauding Bertha’s Victory Over Death, are her parents Ernest Bazile & Loney Wycoff-Bazile; her forever devoted husband Willie Hall, Jr.; her father in-law and mother in-law Willie Hall, Sr. & Edith Hall. Brothers: Lionel Bazile and Lester Bazile; Sisters: Lula Mae Harmon, Ella Mae “Tot” Herron, Mazerta Berry and grandson, Tremaine Johnson.

Keeping her Legacy Alive, are her sons: Robert Hall, Sr. and Warren Hall of Port Arthur, Texas; daughters: Evelyn Hall of Port Arthur, Texas, Dr. Sandra Richardson of Beaumont, Texas, and Madeline Lewis (Clifton) of Port Arthur, Texas.

Grandchildren: Tasha Scypion- Bobb, Andrea Graham (Tamarious), Maia Antoine, Tenika Antoine, Reese Richardson, Phillip Richardson, Christen Richardson, Alex Hall, Posche Hall, Kanisha Hall, Brian Hall, Robert Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Timothy Hall, and LaQuinta Hall.

Siblings: Harlon Bazile, Lela Harmon (Ransom), Gloria Chavis, Geraldine Harmon, and Joyce Banks, and Sister In-Law: Mary Ann Washington

A Special Cousin: Lillie James, and also filling the branches of her family tree are nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bertha acknowledged God as her Lord & Savior, and was baptized in the Name of Jesus at an early age.

Bay, will be forever honored and remembered as an amazing provider and a source of strength for her children, grandchildren & family. She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking abundant meals, and shopping. She loved to attend church functions, until her health started to decline. Bertha was an usher for many years, an organizer in the church, a member of the High Society Red Hatters and giver of her time, finances, encouragement and most of all, her LOVE.

A Special heartfelt Thank You, to all her caring providers, Gentiva Hospice Care, Texas Home Health, and Thomas Blvd. Church of Christ Meals on Wheels.

Funeral services will start at 11a.m., with a preceding visitation from 9am – 11am on Saturday, December 3rd at Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church, 548 15th Street, Port Arthur, Texas 77640. Rev. Lloyd Scott, Sr. Officiating. Interment: Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery-Port Arthur, TX under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
