Dorthy Stokes Duhon, 85, of Port Neches passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
She was born on April 13, 1931 in Sabine Pass, Texas to William and Nettie Lee Stokes.
Dorthy was a lifelong resident of this area and member of First Baptist Church-Port Neches. Over the years she was financial manager of several institutions.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at First Baptist Church-Port Neches with Dr. David Mahfouz officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
Dorthy was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Edsel F. Duhon, two brothers, Robert Stokes and Roy Stokes, and two sisters, Wilma George and Elma Ozio.
She is survived by two daughters, Fran Nations and husband, Jim of Austin, TX and Sharon Brown and husband, Larry H. of Mars, PA; son, Terry Duhon and wife, Robin of Winnie, TX; sister, Nelda Dorsey of Port Neches, TX; eight grandchildren, Amanda Huye and husband Michael of Baton Rouge, Tammie Theriot and husband Jason of Groves, Matthew Brown and wife Janine of Dallas, Niki Segura of Groves, Michelle Tallarico and husband Mark of Ashburn VA, Jay Domingue of Port Neches, Lindley Domingue of Austin, and Elizabeth Landry and husband, Andrew of Austin, and fourteen great grandchildren, Madison, Dylan, Devan, Dallan, Dausan, Grace, Gideon, Rachel, Ephraim, Emerson, Sarah B., Lennon, Benjamin, and Mary V.
Dorthy “Nannie” was a loving mother and grandmother and an exceptional cook. Her doting nature and delicious soul food will be missed by all those who loved her.
