John Wiedenhoff Jr, born in Pt. Arthur, Texas in 1926, passed Wednesday, November 2 at age 90.

He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the South-East Asian theatre in Burma and China as part of the Merrell’s  Marauders. Texaco Refinery was his place of employment, where he was always known to his co-workers as “square”.  After retirement, he donated many years as the ‘fix it man” for the United Board of Missions. John was a lifelong member of the Groves and Pt Arthur Christian Church and a Master Mason for over 50 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Faye and John Wiedenhoff, wife, Donnie McCoy Wiedenhoff, and infant daughter, Patsy.  Surviving are his daughters, Lana (Walsh)Gonzales and Susan McAdams, Son-in-laws, Jerome Gonzales and Robert McAdams, grandchildren, Cobie Scott, Tabitha Nance and Jonathan McAdams and 7 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Pt. Neches on Tuesday, November 22 at 2pm. Visitation to follow at 1st Christian Church, 9th Ave. Pt Arthur, Texas.
