Richard Jules Titus

Richard Jules Titus, age 90, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on October 16th, 2016.

Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, October 27th at Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church, 15415 Red Robin Road, San Antonio, Texas 78255, with Father Christopher George Phillips officiating. Interment will be at the church columbarium following the service.

Richard was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Albert Anthony and Lillian Marie Titus on January 23, 1926. He went to St. James High School in Port Arthur, Texas. He graduated with a college degree from Georgia Tech. He married Leah Rae Carr on August 16th 1952 in Houston, Texas. They were married for 20 years and raised nine children. He worked as an aeronautical engineer for various companies from 1951 until retirement in 1991, to include Boeing, Northrop, Learjet, Swearingen, LTV, McDonnell Aircraft and Bell Aerospace. He was a veteran of WWII and served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed volunteer teaching 6th – 12th grade math and reading at the Atonement Academy. His hobbies included reading, tennis and jogging. He loved steaks and Mexican food.

Richard is preceded in death by Leah, his daughter Angela Rae Titus, his sister June Alberta Ramirez and his brother Gilbert Rene Titus.

Richard is survived by his brothers – Ron and Mary Titus, Houston, TX and Edsel and Patricia Titus, Ojai, CA; his children – Jan and Richard Moscatelli, Marshfield, MA, Joe and Kari Titus, Austin, TX, Pat and Kerry Titus, Yukon, TX, Chris Titus and Rob Kaufman, Norwalk, CT, Ron and Kay Titus, San Antonio, TX, Monica and Monte Coulter, Chattanooga, TN, Regina and Frank Clerici, Walpole, MA and Andrea and Tom Williams, Driftwood, TX; his grandchildren – Bianca Moscatelli, Alex Moscatelli, Kara Titus, Lauren Bryant, Michael Titus, Amanda Titus, Thomas Titus, Katrina Titus and Monte Coulter IV; and his great grandchild, Meleah Titus.
