Inez Auffurth Freeman

Inez Auffurth Freeman, age 87, of Port Arthur died at 630pm October 4th, 2016. Inez was a native of Port Arthur, TX , born October 20th, 1928 and lived her entire life in Port Arthur. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in January 1947 and advanced to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse working in the Nursery at St. Mary Hospital for many years. In 1953, she met and married David Earl Freeman and they were blessed with four children, ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Inez was an active member of St. Catherine Catholic Church since 1963 and was a member of St. Paul’s Altar Society. She volunteered in the Adoration Chapel weekly. She was a wonderful person who treated everyone with kindness, sweet down to the core, never met a stranger and loved everyone. Her passion was getting all her family together for holidays. She blessed us with wonderful traditions and cherished memories.
Inez was preceded in death by her mother and Father, Erwin and Inez Auffuth; her husband of 36 years, David E. Freeman; and her sister Lorraine Duplan.
She is survived by one brother E.J. (Bud) Auffurth and wife Eva of Port Arthur. Four children: Gary Freeman and wife Gail of Nederland, Mark Freeman and wife Nancy of Groves, Gay Guidry and husband Ray of Port Neches and Todd Freeman and wife Kimberly of Nederland. She was MawMaw to ten grandchildren Cory Freeman, Jeff Freeman, Erin Freeman, Reese Guidry, Clay Freeman, Blake Freeman, Brandi Guidry Mitchell, Kevin Freeman, Kristen Freeman and Danielle Freeman. She was, also known as, MawMaw to six great- grandchildren; Beaux Mitchell, Creux Freeman, Brooks Guidry, Autumn Mitchell, Jenny Freeman and Sloane Freeman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends tonight, Thursday, October 6, 2016 form 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Grammier Oberle Funeral Home, with the Rosary beginning at 7:30. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, October 7, 2016 at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church with the interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
