GROVES — The Groves Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Center is inviting the public to participate in the 2016 Groves Pecan Festival Photo/Art Contest.

This year’s artwork and photos must be submitted without frames. A previous news release incorrectly stated that the artwork must have frames.

Each classification will have two divisions; youth, 17 and under; and adults, 18 and over. Applications to enter the event can be obtained at the Groves Café and Coffee Bar, 6039 39^th St. or the Groves Chamber office, 4399 Main Ave.

Entries can be turned in beginning on Monday, Oct. 3.

Entry fee is $5 per entry with a three-photo/artwork entry limit per person. No credit cards accepted.

Entries for the photo contest must be an 8 X 10 matted photo. Entries for the art contest must be on a no-larger-than 16 X 20 canvas.

Photos/artwork must be appropriate for public viewing, and only original photos/artwork will be accepted. Only one entry per category will be allowed to place in the awards.

The deadline for all entries to be turned in is Wednesday, Oct. 26.

First Place, Second Place, Third Place and a Robert Pastorella Sr. Memorial Award-previously Peoples Choice Award- will be chosen for all four divisions.

The awards reception will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 at Groves Café and Coffee Bar. This year’s co-chairpersons are Scott and Tina Legendre. Sponsors for this year’s Photo/Art Contest are Jana Riley, KELLERWILLIAMS Realty of SETX and Mid County Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
