Mary Alice Washington

Mary Alice Washington, 89, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Cypress Glen Nursing Facility in Port Arthur, TX.  A native of Broussard, LA, she was a resident of Port Arthur for 55 years.  She retired from Cresthaven Nursing Home.  She was a member of St. Mary’s and St. James Catholic Church.  She was preceded in death by parents, Wilson Green and Carmen Charles; her husband of 6o years, Freddie Washington, Sr.; her son Freddie Washington, Jr.; and her sister, Florence Etienne.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Jimmy Washington and Charles George; her sister Mayola Washington; her granddaughters, Shenequa Harmanson (Michael), Montrae Chretien (Joseph), Dwanetta Washington (Darvin Phillips), DeShuandra Washington (Aaron Auzenne), DeQuanna Malveaux (Michael), and Jaimie Grimes (Kenneth); four grandsons, Aaron Washington, Mario Valdez, Delvin Washington, Christopher Washington, 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A special thank you is extended to Patricia Nabors for stepping up and assisting with taking care of our beloved Mother.  You were a tremendous help and we are forever grateful.

Services will be held at St. James Catholic Church and will be officiated by Father David.  A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Mass of Celebration will be held at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
