ROCK-A-NOOS PLACE THIRD IN DICKINSON

The Port Neches-Groves Rock-A-Noos captured third place Saturday at the Dickinson Tournament with a two-set sweep of the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears.

PNG won the match 25-22 and 26-25. The win came after the Rock-A-Noos lost to Ball High 22-25, 26-24 and 23-25. PNG started the day off with a 25-22 and 25-19 victory over Texas City.

PNG is now 12-6 heading into Tuesday’s home game against Tarkington. The varsity match is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Kailey Oliver finished the day with 29 service points, 13 kills and six blocks and Rachel Hammersmith added 25 points and 20 digs.

Baylee Priddy had 20 points, 12 kills and five blocks while Libbie LeJeune finished with 27 digs and 12 kills and Cheyanne Orozco put in 18 kills and seven blocks. Bayja Newby had 33 digs, Hannah Jones had nine kills and five blocks and Elizabeth Bolyard finished with nine kills.
