Burk D. “Mac” McGreevy, 86, of Port Arthur, TX, passed away Friday August 5, 2016. Burk was born November 1, 1929 in Port Arthur, TX to the late Burk and Cecilia Stevens McGreevy. He was a graduate of South Park High School, class of 1947. He served in the United States Army during the Korean war. He has three Bachelor’s degrees from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX, also a Master’s degree from University of Texas. He taught at Port Neches-Groves High School for 30 years and after retirement he became a world renowned Koi breeder and winner of over 750 championship trophies throughout the United States. He became known as the “Koi Doctor”.

He is survived by his son, Mike McGreevy and wife Cheri of Port Neches, TX, Monty McGreevy and wife Rachel of Katy, TX; step-son, Jim Miller and wife Carla of Arizona; step-daughter, Johanna Hennessy and husband Jim of Waco, TX; 11 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews, family, former students and many close friends. Burk is preceded in death by his parents and wives, Elynor Erwin Heath and Tolene Davis McGreevy and sister, Annette Rambin.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Port Neches, TX, Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 5:00 p.m., a visitation will follow at the church immediately after the service.
