Motorcycle rider dies after hitting cow

A Vidor man riding a motorcycle was killed Wednesday night when he collided with a black cow in the roadway on FM 2802 in Orange County.
At approximately 11 p.m. Wednesday, the Texas Department of Public Safety was notified of a motorcycle crash approximately three miles south of Vidor.
A 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound on FM 2802 when it struck a black cow in the roadway.
The driver, Robert George Cahill, 48, of Vidor, Texas was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Robby Eaves. Cahill was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The cow also died at the crash scene.
This is an ongoing crash investigation and there are no further details to be released.
