Anna Mae Guarnier

Anna Mae Guarnieri, 95, a long-time resident of the Port Arthur area, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 at her residence. She was born August 10, 1920 in Port Arthur, TX, to Charles and Anna Trainer. Anna had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of St. James and St. Catherine Catholic Church. In addition she served on the Altar Society for both parishes and faithfully prayed her rosary.

Anna was a homemaker and a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was kind hearted, caring, friendly, and always had such a wonderful smile that could light up a room. Anna loved baseball; the Houston Astros and the Boston Red Sox were her favorite teams.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward Trainer, Sr. and Anna Rosalie Lamia; husband, Antonio “Tony” Guarnieri; brother, Charles Edward Trainer, Jr. and nephew, Charles Edward Trainer, III. She is survived by her children, Rosalie Blanchard and husband Jerry, William Guarnieri and wife Nancy, Gail Plessala and husband Percy, Paula Bergeron and husband Paul. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a host of extended friends and family to cherish her memories.

Donations may be made in her memory to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

A Christian Vigil and Rosary will be recited Sunday, July 31, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 1, 2016, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
