Port Arthur Police are asking the publics help in finding a vehicle whose driver is suspected of shooting and injuring a teen on Monday.
PAPD released surveillance video on Tuesday from the park’s adjacent Lakeview Pool, 5230 Seventh St., which shows what appears to be a red, 4-door Ford Explorer with a grey stripe or plastic at the bottom of the vehicle.
The suspect is described as a black man in his late 20s to early 30s with shoulder length hair, possibly dreadlocks, Sgt. Kris Boneau, with PAPD’s Street Crimes Unit, said.
“The teen was shot through and through his upper thigh. He was treated and released.”
Police were called around 7 p.m. Monday, July 11 to the 3000 block of Fifth Street where they found a 14-year-old boy had been shot twice in the upper thigh. He told officers the actual shooting happened at Lakeview Pool, 5230 Seventh St., according to a press release from the Port Arthur Police Department.
The teen said he was shot while a male was trying to take his cell phone. He was brought to Christus Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment and later released.
The shooting remains under investigation.
