Woman found shot to death in car

Port Arthur Police are investigating the shooting death of a woman who was found shot to death in a car early Saturday morning.

PAPD Sgt. Scott Gaspard said there was a call of a shooting at the Express Mart in the 2900 block of Jimmy Johnson Boulevard around 5:30 a.m. Saturday. Shortly after there was an anonymous 911 call telling police where to find the car the victim was in.

Police believe the driver and other occupants of the car abandoned the vehicle in the parking lot of Community Bank in the 2900 block of Turtle Creek Drive.

The victim, who was the passenger in the car, was found dead and the car had bullet holes.

Justice of the Peace Pct. 8 Tom Gillam III said the victim is a female, age 36, from Beaumont.

An autopsy has been ordered.
