Armandina “Dina” Flores DeLaCruz

Armandina “Dina” Flores DeLaCruz, 83, of Groves, Texas passed away at her home with her beloved family around her on Thursday, June 23, 2016.

She was born on June 5, 1933 to Juanita Recio Flores and Baltazar Flores, Sr. in Port Arthur, Texas. Dina was a lifelong resident of the area. She worked at Plettman’s Grocery Store many years ago. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where she was very active as a member of Las Damas Guadalupanas and the Senior Club. Dina was also a member of a bowling league in Port Arthur. She loved to dance, loved going to the casinos, playing cards and pokeno and always loved to have a good time.

She is preceeded in death by her husband of 57 years just 17 months ago, Art DeLaCruz,  her son, Arthur “Papa” DeLaCruz, her parents, her brothers, Rudy, Gilbert and Baltazar Jr. Flores and her sisters, Lilia Aleman and Hortencia Quintela.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dodie and Kevin Palombo, her only grandson who meant the world to her, Shea Palombo, and her sisters, Beatrice Rivera of Los Angeles, California, Alicia Pedraza and Emma Montalvo of Nederland, her brothers, Jesse Flores, Sr. of Nederland and Richard Flores of Port Arthur along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Dina’s life will be at 2:00 PM Monday, June 27, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Urbano Seanz Ramirez serving as celebrant. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Nederland.
