Patricia Holton LaCombe, DDS passed away unexpectedly at the age of 64 on May 18, 2016 at her home in Georgetown, Texas. She will indeed be missed by her family and friends.

Patti was born in Port Arthur, Texas on November 25, 1951 to Laverne and Gordon (Flash) Holton. Dr. LaCombe was a 1974 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, Texas and ultimately completed her academic career at University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, Texas in 1979 graduating as a pediatric dental specialist. She began her dental practice in Webster, Texas where she cared for her patients for many years before relocating to practice in El Paso, Texas. Due to health reasons Patti, was forced to retire several years ago from the profession and practice of dentistry she so dearly loved. She moved then to Georgetown, Texas to live near her parents.

Patti was quite proud of her academic accomplishments. She attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois after high school before transferring to Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas prior to entering dental school. Even after she retired from her professional dental career, her passion for knowledge and desire and capability of continually sharing and informing family, friends and acquaintances about current world news, sporting events or detailed facts of historical significance remained in her daily conversations until the day she passed. Her ability to recite famous facts and figures from history was really quite uncanny. She was “the older and wiser big sister” to her only sibling Paige and took extreme pleasure in reminding her little sis of that fact as often as she could. Patti was kind and generous to her community, charities of choice, friends and family in her own unique fashion. She was married for 10 years early in her dental career, divorced and remained single for her remaining lifetime. Patti was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Georgetown Texas and was cared for by their loving member ministry for many of her last years during her times of need. Patti’s intellect and interest included the arts and fine music by the great composers and had been a fine musician herself on piano and the clarinet. She enjoyed watching sports. Dr. LaCombe loved to travel and visited famous cities and places around the world. Her ability to recall and quote detailed historical or relevant facts about those places would surely give any travel guide a run for their money. (and no doubt she did just that)
