Chris E. Serres, 57, of Nederland, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016. He was born on April 27, 1959, in Port Arthur, to Joyce Earline Duke Serres and Melvin Lloyd Serres.

Chris was a 1977 graduate of Nederland High School and was a driver and mechanic for M & T Pallet Company.  He loved motorcycles and if it could be done on a motorcycle, he could do it.

Survivors include his longtime partner, Cindy Scea; daughters, Destiny Serres and Ashley Washburn and her husband, Paul, all of Nederland; stepson, Zachery Highlander and fiancée, Sandy Daigle, of Port Neches; grandchildren, Jace and Victoria Mattingly, Grace and Ava Washburn, Ryan Highlander, and Remington LeBlanc; brother, Mike Serres and his wife, Christine, of Buna; sister, Peggy Griffin and her husband, Mark, of Buna; Uncle and Aunt, Weldon and Ann Duke of Shiner; and beloved dog, Jack.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and close friend, Greg Bales.

A gathering of Mr. Serres’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, 101 Block Street, Port Neches.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Serres’ memory to South East Texas Circle of Hope, P.O. Box 953,  Nederland,  Texas  77627, or to Harbor Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 23077, Beaumont , Texas 77720.
