GROVES —Jefferson County Pony League’s request for funding received a stamp of approval from Groves City councilmembers.

The league, formerly Groves American Baseball League, asked the city for hotel/motel tax funds to be used for four baseball tournaments to be held at the fields, 5800 West Washington in Groves.

City Manager D. Sosa explained in an earlier story that the request for funding to be used for expenses associated with the league hosting a tournament thus fitting in with qualifications for expenditure of hotel/motel occupancy tax funds.
