Ernest A. “PaPa” Perdue, Sr.

PaPa Perdue age 86 passed away on June 10, 2016 at Oak Grove Nursing Home. He was born on October 1, 1929 in El Dorado, Ark. to parents, Alvin and Mattie M. Arner Perdue. He was a resident of Port Arthur for the past 53 years and had been employed at Port Arthur Towing as Port Engineer for over 40 years .Ernest and his wife had been married for 59 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
PaPa was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his son, Ernie and wife Terry Perdue, Jr. of Port Arthur, daughter, Joyce and her husband John Payne of Greenville, S.C. 5 grandchildren, Ben Payne, Teranie Perdue, Ahron Payne, Mike Orta and Michelle Orta Beard, 2 great grandchildren, Megan Beard and Titus Payne.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 13, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home with entombment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
The family would to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Oak Groves Nursing Home.
