Port Arthur Police responded to the following calls from May 11 through May 16

Wednesday, May 11

  • Assault-family violence was reported in the 3900 block of Lakeshore Drive.
  • A person was arrested for assault-family violence at Paradise Condos, 4001 Memorial Blvd.
  • A fiberglass go-cart frame, valued at $2,200, was stolen from the 600 block of Sabine Avenue.
  • Assault-family violence and reckless injury to a child was reported in the 2900 block of 11th Street.
  • Assault with a deadly weapon was reported at Chuck’s Automotive, 4300 Sheppard Avenue, after a person was hit in the head with a five-foot metal ratchet extension.
  • An assault was reported at Chuck’s Automotive, 4300 Sheppard Avenue, after a person was hit in the left with a “lift peg.”
  • Assault-family violence was reported in the 2200 block of Sharon Drive regarding a father and son fighting in the yard.
  • Injury to a child was reported in the 3200 block of Thomas Boulevard.
  • Assault-family violence was reported in the 2000 block of Gulfway Drive.

Thursday, May 12

  • Criminal mischief was reported at Lakeview Pool, 5230 Seventh St.
  • Assault-family violence was reported in the 4100 block of Cobblestone Lane.
  • An HTC cell phone valued at $70, and $40 in coins were stolen from a home in the 4700 block of Lewis drive.
  • A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 1400 block of Green Avenue.
  • Assault-family violence/interference with emergency request/assistance was reported in the 5100 block of Sixth Street.
  • A 40-inch Element LED TV, Toshiba laptop, HP laptop and Swiss Army backpack were stolen from the 2300 block of 14th Street.
  • Endangering a child was reported at Port Acres Little League ballpark, 6001 Ray, in reference to children being left alone at the park.
  • A person was charged with evading arrest/detention with priors, a state jail felony, in the 3400 block of Gates Boulevard.
  • Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported at Lakeview Palms Apartments, 5200 Gulfway Drive.
  • A person was arrested for endangerment of a child after a call of a 1 ½ year old being left locked in a vehicle for 30 to 45 minutes outside Dollar Tree, 8801 U.S. 69. The vehicle was not running and the windows were rolled up.
  • A person was arrested for injury to the elderly-family violence in the 1200 block of 18th Street.
  • Eight Fujifilm mini boxes of film were stolen by a person from Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd.
  • A person attempted to register a stolen vehicle at the sub-courthouse in downtown Port Arthur. The stolen vehicle was located at the man’s home in the 2400 block of Duff.
  • An assault was reported in the 1000 block of Liberty.
  • Three people were arrested for burglary of a habitation in the 3100 block of Woodrow Drive.
  • A person was arrested for criminal trespass at Speedy Mart, 600 W. Gulfway Drive.
  • A person reportedly stole a Rocktech Bluetooth speaker, valued at $22 from Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd. While being detained he broke away and was located nearby at Party City, 2770 FM. 365. The stolen property was recovered however Walmart did not pursue charges as the item was under $25. The suspect was arrested for evading detention.
  • Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a steak knife, was reported at Louis Manor Apartments, 1300 Joe Louis. The victim declined to press charges.
  • Assault-family violence was reported in the 1600 block of 18th Street.
  • Assault-family violence was reported at Rampart Apartments, 1612 Village East.

Friday, May 13

  • A 54-inch John Deer riding tractor, valued at $6,000; Honda E6500 generator, valued at $3,800; Snap-On toolbox with miscellaneous tools, unknown value; two torque bars, valued at $1,000; and a wheelbarrow were stolen from a building in the 2200 block of West 60th Street.
  • Three-hundred feet of copper welding lead, 100-feet of torch hoses and three pry/pinch bars were stolen from the 1500 block of Terminal Road.
  • Jewelry, a black regent .45 caliber pistol and a .22 caliber Remington rifle was stolen from the 4200 block of Asbury Street.
  • An iPhone 6 was stolen from a person at Port Arthur Park Apartments, 1348 Jefferson Drive, after the owner let a person use the phone and the person walked off with it.
  • A person was charged with evading arrest/resisting arrest/theft of firearm/failure to identify fugitive in the 3600 block of Texas 73.
  • Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was reported at Family Dollar, 4817 Gulfway Drive, after a person held a knife to another person’s neck during an assault.
  • Theft was reported when a person’s immigration papers were stolen in the 800 block of Colorado Avenue
  • A person was struck in the back with a hammer during an assault in the 2200 block of Fifth Avenue.
  • Attempted burglary of a building was reported at French Connection, 608 Houston Ave.

Saturday, May 14

  • Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported in the 1100 block of West 60th Street.
  • A vehicle was burglarized in the 3800 block of Avalon Avenue.
  • A person was arrested for the theft of two tracker wristbands, one connector and a pair of wire strippers at Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd.
  • Assault was reported at Port Cities rescue Mission, 900 Sixth St.
  • Assault on a public servant was reported at Port Cities rescue Mission, 900 Sixth St.
  • Electronics was stolen from a home in the 3400 block of 29th Street.
  • Copper tubing was stolen from an air conditioning unit in the 3000 block of Fifth Avenue.
  • A person reported his wallet was stolen at Sunrise Grocery, 640 Stadium Road.
  • Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was reported at This Is It Down Home Cooking restaurant, 1629 Woodworth Blvd.
  • Aggravated assault-family violence was reported in the 2300 block of 19th Street.
  • A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 5100 block of Dryden Road.

Sunday, May 15

  • Someone tried to pry the soft top off a Jeep in an attempted burglary in the 3700 block of Chandelle lane.
  • A residence at Rampart Apartments, 1634 Village East Blvd., was burglarized.
  • Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported at Valley View Estates Apartments, 5801 Twin City Hwy.
  • A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 3600 block of Texas 73.
  • Assault-family violence was reported in the 3000 block of Alamo Avenue.

Monday, May 16

  • A 70-inch LG flat screen TV, Spongebob piggy bank and cash were stolen from a home in the 600 block of 12th Street.
  • A home in the 3500 block of Ninth Avenue was burglarized.
