Beaumont robbery victim shoots suspect

BEAUMONT — A concealed handgun licensed carrier shot and injured one of two men trying to rob him at gunpoint in Beaumont Thursday night.

Police in Beaumont were called to Taqueria El Paraiso, 1880 College St., around 10:30 p.m. June 2. While in route, officers learned that the suspect had been shot by an armed person in the parking lot, according to a press release from BPD.

When police arrived they found the alleged robbery suspect lying in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. He was taken into custody and brought to Christus Southeast Texas-St. Elizabeth Hospital.

The intended robbery victim told police he was confronted by two men, one was wearing a bandana covering his face and armed with a handgun while the other suspect was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt.

The victim fired several rounds at the suspect and the second suspect took off running. The investigation is ongoing.

The person with the gunshot wounds was identified as Adrian Glenn, age 26 from Beaumont.

Detectives were able to obtain an aggravated robbery warrant for his arrest. Detectives are working on identifying the other suspect.
