Peggy Cain Barnette

Peggy Cain Barnette, 90, of Port Neches, died Monday, May 30, 2016. She was born on January 28, 1926, in Sherman, to Emma Wood Cain and James Joseph Cain.

Peggy retired as an executive secretary in the construction industry after over forty-five years of service. She was a longtime member at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Port Neches and enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, and the beach.

Survivors include her sons, Tony Barnette and his wife, Pamela, of Beaumont and Barry Barnette and his wife, Michelle, of Nederland; and grandchildren, Brandon and Abi Barnette.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, N.K. Barnette; sisters, Mary Margaret Walker, Thelma Wilkinson, and Elizabeth Bullington; and brother, James Cain.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ms. Barnette’s memory to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 2425 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas 77651.

A gathering of Mrs. Barnette’s family and friends will be 5:30 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 2425 Nall Street, Port Neches, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Enichement of her cremated body will follow at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Columbarium.
