Milton Harry “Buzzy” Smith, 82 of Port Neches, TX passed away May 31st, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Buzzy was born November 24, 1933 to Pervis and Lucille Smith. He was raised in Port Acres, TX until he moved to Port Neches after he married Shirlee Ann Brown in 1952. Buzzy met Shirlee when he was attending Lamar University. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University where he played football and was voted class president.
He worked at Gulf refinery and then Dupont refinery until his retirement in January 1990. He loved to do wood-working and had a passion & skill for working with his hands and was a stickler for details—always making sure the finished product was perfect. He also enjoyed fishing and camping at area lakes. In 1997 he built a house in Buna, Tx on 4.5 acres where he enjoyed gardening, bush hogging and working in his shop.
Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Port Neches with pastor Patrick Cammarata officiating. Private family graveside service to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Buzzy was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Shirlee Ann Brown; his mother, Lucille Smith; his father, Pervis Smith and his grandson, Sam Sterling Smith. Visitation for family and friends will be at First Baptist Church, Port Neches, TX on Thursday, June 2nd from 9:00 am – 11:00 am with funeral service beginning at 11:00 am.
Surviving relatives include: his daughter, Kerry Ann Foulk; son, Ralph Kirby Smith & wife Donna; grandchildren, Fred Foulk Jr, Marcella Ann Farris & husband Zack, Emily Ann Foulk & finance Joseph Goodman and Madeline Jane Smith and a very special friend, Billie Bolch.
