Camilla “Sue” Dews

Camilla “Sue” Dews, 71, of Port Neches, died Monday, May 23, 2016. She was born on July 7, 1944, in Port Arthur, to Margret Allen Jordan and Jimmy Jordan, and had been a lifelong resident of the area.

Sue retired as a school teacher from Port Neches-Groves after thirty-eight years of service, and was a substitute teacher for many years after. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Sue also enjoyed spending time at the family farm in Woodville, square dancing, and giving dancing lessons.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Dews, of Port Neches; son, Ryan Dews and wife, Melisa Cathey of Port Neches; grandchildren, Reyna Marie Dews and River Orion Dews; brother, Lee A. Jordan of Galveston; and numerous other family members and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Dwayne Alan Jordan.

A gathering of Mrs. Dews’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Broussard’s, with Dr. David Mahfouz officiating. Her interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
