Violet Dorothy Carter, 82, of Port Arthur, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Medical Center of Southeast Texas. DeeDee a native of Port Arthur, TX, born on February 13, 1934. She retired from the Port Arthur Independent School District after many years of services.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Arthur and Ida Miller; brothers, Eddie Miller and Macland Miller.

 

Cherishing her memories forever are daughters, Debora Lavergne (Ronald), Groves, TX, Darroll Miller, Atlanta, GA; 5 grandchildren, Tyrone Green (Anntionette), Erie, PA, Shyrona Rutherford (Reginald), Tonzell Green, Powder Springs, GA, Ronzell Lavergne (Gabrielle), Houston, TX, Vyrona  Miller, of Port Arthur, TX. 14 great-grandchildren De’Nesha Yell, Destani Rutherford, Deon Miller, Tralynd Green, Powder Springs, GA, Tyreck, Tyvone and Mycah Green, Erie, PA, Deshaun Miller, Delaia Kilgore, Jerrold Kilgore, Jr., Akerionta Lavergne, Port Arthur, TX, Ty’ren Lavergne, Ta’yla Lavergne, Houston, TX, Meagan (Erwin) Smith, Baton Rouge, LA; 2 great-great grandchildren Nayla and Nadia Smith, Baton Rouge, LA, sisters Jacqueline Cane, and Vanessa Lannette of Port Arthur, TX, Godson Willie James Young, Jr. of Port Arthur, TX and special honorary granddaughters, Marcey Revis and Brandii Parham.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves Texas. Service entrusted to Hannah Funeral Home, Inc.
