Mary Cecile Rodenberry, 93, of Groves, Texas passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Harbor Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

Mary was born December 6, 1922 in San Antonio, Texas to David Sanders and Mary Sanders Kennedy. She was a resident of Groves for 10 years and a member of First Baptist Church of Port Arthur, which she enjoyed attending regularly.

Mary received a Bachelor and Master’s Degree from Lamar University and was a retired school teacher from Houston Independent School District. She was a learning Diagnostician.

She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Rodenberry.

Survivors include her daughter, Anna Frances Jones and her husband Dr. Gene E. Jones of Groves; son, Howard Rodenberry and his wife Marie of Carlyss, LA; six grandchildren, Sharon Knighton, Garrett Jones and his wife Rebecca, Randy Jones, Pam Winkles and her husband Jeff, Teri Holbert and her husband Dan, and Sheri Marcucci and her husband Ed; ten great-grandchildren, Heather, Jordan, Cassidy, Dustan, Ashley, Jeffery Jr., Jonathan, Taylor, Blake, and Hayden; eight great-great grandchildren, Nikolas, Tegin, Rebekkah, Landyn, Makenna, Gatlin, Hudson, and Sophia; and close family, Shirley and Kevin Monroy.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves on Saturday, May 14, 2016  beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon  followed by the  funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Kyle Cemetery in Kyle, Texas.
