GROVES — Sign-up for this year’s Groves Pecan Festival’s Queen’s Scholarship Pageant will begin Wednesday, June 1 and end on Wednesday, July 13.

Girls ages three years to 12^th grade who reside in Groves may pick up applications at the Groves Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Center office, 4399 Main Ave.

Categories are petite miss, three years to pre-kindergarten; little miss, kindergarten to first grade; duchess, second and third grades; countess, fourth and fifth grades; junior miss, sixth and seventh grades; princess, eighth and ninth grades; and queen, 10^th to 12^th grades.

Each category will be limited to 15 contestants. Once the category is filled, no more applications will be accepted.

This year’s pageant will be held Saturday, Sept. 17.

Contestants in the queen’s division will compete for the following scholarship amounts: queen, $1,000 scholarship; first runner-up, $750; second runner-up, $500.

Applications must be picked up and returned completed with registration fees by 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 13 to the Groves Chamber office. No late applications will be accepted.
