Laura Mae Chargois Landry, 78, of Port Arthur, TX, departed this life on Monday, May 2, 2016. She was born on August 19, 1937 to Earnest Chargois and Lelia Thibeaux Chargois in Youngsville, Louisiana. She married the love of her life, Curley Landry, Sr. To this union four children were born.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years Curley Landry Sr.; one son Curley Landry, Jr. (Dianne); three daughters Sherita Solaire (Robert), Marla Jaco (Michael) and Joylyn Mitchell (Ellis); ten grandchildren, Dramodd, Mykisha, Ellicia, Elexis, Robyne, Marlease, Tevin, Elelia, Kira and Tiffany; 13 grandchildren; a special great-grandson Aron Landry; one brother Earnest Chargois, Jr. of Beaumont, TX: two sisters Ethel Segura of Beaumont, TX and Algene Vanwright of Port Arthur, TX; a loving sister Margaret Franklin-Bush of League City, TX, Aunt Louise Fiest; uncle Alvin Thibeaux of Maurice, LA, Aunt Philomena Trahan Bonds of Chicago, IL; devoted friends Josephine Lewis and Mary Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
