Mrs. Elymre (Lillie Mae) Sinegal-Martin was born to Mathias and Nedia Senegal on May 26, 1919 in Freg, Louisiana. She was a resident of Port Arthur for over 75 years. She was an active and faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Port Arthur, Texas until her illness. She was a domestic worker for many years and retired at the age of 84.

Mrs. Martin departed this life on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Oak Grove Nursing Home.

Mrs. Martin leaves to cherish her memory; her daughters, Helen (Arthur) Pilette and Elois Sinegal Shankle both of Port Arthur; one son, Joseph (Dorothy) Martin, Houston, Texas, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents, Mathias and Nedia Senegal; her beloved son, Michael Martin and son-in-law Eugene Shankle, four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Sacred Heart-St. Mary Parish Church with visitation from 8 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
