Meeuwsen doubles twice in LU win

CONWAY, Ark. — Kelly Meeuwsen pounded two doubles, finished 3 for 5 and led Lamar to a 7-2 win over Central Arkansas on Friday.
Meeuwsen drove in a run during a three-run second inning. That was part of Lamar’s (28-15, 15-4 Southland) run to a 6-0 lead through three before UCA scored two in the fifth.
Stephanie Meeuwsen and Sable Hankins each had two hits for Lamar. Both of Hankins’ knocks were doubles.
Ciara Luna gave up two runs on five hits and struck out 11 in a complete-game victory.
Lamar and UCA play a doubleheader at 1 p.m. today.
